About Me
My name is Lara Taylor and I am a stay at home mom of 3 amazing kids. I started playing the piano and flute in the 4th grade and soon fell in love with the flute. I dropped piano and started taking private flute lessons in 6th grade and continued on until I graduated High School. I was either first or second chair flute for all 4 years at my large High School, and went on to play in the Messiah College orchestra. As an accounting major, I was one of only a handful of non music majors in the orchestra. I was 3rd chair for 2 years until we started to record a CD and the time commitment, combined with my difficult major, was too much and I had to leave the orchestra. I have played in multiple church Christmas and Easter performances over the years, and still enjoy playing at home for an audience of one (or 3 if my kids are in the room). My hope is to encourage young students to have a lifelong love of music and to help students reap the rewards of hard work and practice.
